Emergency First Response & Rescue Diver Course 


Requirements
To complete the full course you will need to be:
 
Emergency First Response section of course:
  • There is no minimum age or prerequisites for this course
  • You do not have to be a scuba diver to take part in this course

Rescue Diver section of course:

  • a certified PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or have a qualifying certification from another approved training organisation.
  • proof of 20 or more logged dives including experience in deep diving and underwater navigation.
  • completed the above certification in Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR) and Secondary Care (First Aid) within the last 24 months.
  • the minimum of 15 years old (if under 15 please see Junior Divers)
  • in reasonable health (You will be required to fill in a medical statement and questionnaire).

 

 




Certification
In the Emergency First Response course you will complete the Primary Care : C.P.R and Secondary Care : First Aid.
This certification is valid for 24 months from the last training segment completion date and is a prerequisite for the PADI Rescue Diver below. To stay current with your certification you will need to take a refresher course at least every 24 months.
 
The PADI Rescue Diver Course will build your confidence, give you valuable experience in emergency management and prevention and heighten your awareness of the surrounding environment. This certification is a prerequisite for all PADI leadership-level training (PADI Divemaster, Assistant Instructor, and Open Water Scuba Instructor).
 
 
 



What we provide

The Emergency First Response requires you to learn about primary and secondary care by a mixture of knowledge development, skill development and scenario practise. Liquid Divers can guarantee the maximum class size of 4 students (unless by prior agreement).

Knowledge Development

  • Emergency First Response manual and related materials for home study including support as required during this period by a PADI Instructor.
  • We recommend you give yourself 1 week to read the manual and complete the quick quiz’s and knowledge review questionnaires in a relaxed way.
  • A focused review of what you have studied, including question and answer sessions and your final exam in a comfortable environment .

Skill Development

  • you will learn the eight skills required in Primary Care : C.P.R including oxygen administration and the four skills required in Secondary Care : First Aid  over a period of two sessions within the Liquid Divers classroom.
  • You will learn basic skills that all emergency responders need conducted in a relatively low stress environment.

Scenario Practise

  • You will practise and apply what you have learnt during your knowledge development and skill development training.
 
Following on PADI Rescue Diver consists of three parts; Knowledge Development, Rescue Training Sessions, Open Water Rescue Scenarios. Liquid Divers can guarantee the maximum class size of 4 students (unless by prior agreement).

  • We recommend you give yourself 2-4 weeks to read the manual and complete the quick quiz’s and knowledge review questionnaires in a relaxed way.
  • A focused review of what you have studied, including question and answer sessions and your final exam in a comfortable environment.

Rescue Training Sessions

  • You will practise and apply what you have learnt during your knowledge development training.
  • You will learning 10 Rescue Skills over a period of two sessions within a local swimming pool or at one of the UK’s leading training sites or along the South Coast.

Open Water Scenarios

  • 4 Rescue Scenarios taken over a period of one - two sessions at one of the UK’s leading training sites or along the South Coast.
  • During these scenarios you will put in to practise the skills you have learnt during the Rescue Training Sessions.

*If you will need a mask, snorkel and fins please enquire when booking as a refundable deposit will be required.

We recommend that as a PADI Rescue Diver that you purchase your own a Pocket Mask and include this as part of your diving kit (These are available at an extra cost of £10.00 each to add to the basic package).
 




Payment Terms

All course fees can be paid in full at the point booking or we will require:

  • a non refundable initial payment of £150.00 when placing your booking, at which time you will receive all the required course materials.
  • the final payment of the outstanding balance the minimum of 7 days prior to the course start.
